The Jesuit scholastic known as Bro. Jhaw, who taught Filipino for two years in Xavier High School, is now Fr. Joseph Haw, SJ. He was ordained a priest last April 18, Saturday, along with six other Jesuits.
His students remember him not only as a Filipino teacher, but also a Class Adviser and YCLC moderator.  Fr. Jhaw has been assigned to the PHILIPPINE JESUIT PRISON MINISTRY, where he will be serving the prisoners. He was also a regular speaker for the “Days with the Lord” for the third year high school students.
After his stint in Xavier School, he underwent a four-year theology program at the Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo de Manila, where he graduated summa cum laude. On the side, he also appeared on a weekly TV segment called “Kape’t Pandasal” aired by ABS-CBN.
During his Thanksgiving Mass, held in Mary the Queen Parish on April 24, Fr. Jhaw spoke of how his two years of regency in Xavier School have formed him deeply and prepared him for the priesthood. We thank the Lord for Fr. Jhaw’s gift of priestly vocation and pray for him as he begins his new mission. Luceat Lux, Fr. Jhaw!
Here is a short video clip showing Fr. Jhaw sharing about the highlights of his ordination.
