Last February 19, 2010, as early as 8:00 in the morning, the Lecture Hall started to fill up with cute and lovable little boys and girls in their colorful costumes together with their teachers and some parents.

mr-william-cheng.jpgA total of 16 Chinese-Filipino schools from Metro Manila joined the First Chinese Interschool Children’s Dance Contest now on its 5th year of  Chinese Cultural Competition. This was made possible through Mr. William Cheng Lay, a noted philanthropist, in cooperation with  the Metro Manila Chinese Education Research Center and the Filipino-Chinese Columnists Association.
prep-3.jpgThe 16 schools were divided into two groups based on student population. Xavier School was placed in group A, together with seven other competitors. The boys were the fourth to dance to the tune of “Romantic Oriental Cherry.” What was remarkable about their performance was that in the middle of the dance, the 15 Prep students performed Tai-chi gracefully. Ms. Everly Nadulpit and Ms. Patricia Pang, their mentors, together with some Prep teachers and parents, shouted with glee when our ms-huang-jingyan.jpgstudents garnered 4th place.
