Two Xaverians Receive LS Awards for the Arts 2010

admu-seal.jpgCongratulations to Eusebio Ehron Kylo Y. Chua III and Gian-Paolo Simeon T. Lao, both from the Class of 2006, who are among this year’s recipients of the Loyola Schools Awards for the Arts. Kylo, IV BFA Information Design, was cited in the Visual Arts: Sculpture category; while Gian-Paolo, IV BS Management majoring in Communications Technology Management, was among those honored in the Creative Writing: Poetry category.

Each year, the LSAA awards senior students of the Loyola Schools who have done outstanding work in the arts. In the past years, it has successfully given recognition to talented and outstanding student-artists who have eventually led successful careers in the fields of film, theatre, creative writing, among many others.

This year, the LSAA recognized seniors in the following artistic fields:  Creative Writing (Poetry, Fiction, Literary Essay, and Playwriting), the Theatre Arts (Direction, Acting, Theatre Production), the Screen Arts (Film), the Visual Arts (Painting, Photography, Graphic Design, and Illustration), Music, Dance, and Multi-genre Cross-Disciplinary Artforms.

To be eligible for the awards, an applicant must be a student of the Loyola Schools on his/her senior or fifth year displaying an active involvement in the arts either inside or outside of the university.

The awardees will be honored  on March 10, 2010, at the Escaler Hall, Science Education Complex, Ateneo de Manila University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City.
