dscn0420.jpg Xavier School held its annual variety show, entitled Impulse, on February 5 at the Grade School Quadrangle. Magic 89.9 DJs Andrea Bianca Martin Manzano (Andi-9) and Mo Twister, together with MYX VJ Raelene Elaine Ebaler Villanía (Iya Villania), hosted that night’s variety show. The show included local bands such as Spongecola, the 6Cyclemind, Parokya ni Edgar, Imago, and the beatboxing Akafellas.

Impulse also featured a variety of dance routines from the different school dance troupes including Poveda Dance Troupe, ICA DT (Immaculate Conception Academy Dance Troupe), CADS (Company of Ateneo Dancers), XDX (Xavier Dance X), which featured former Dance X members, and Xavier’s current Dance X, which served as the show’s final performance.

dscn0399.jpgShowcased in between dance troupes or local bands were Xavier’s homegrown Singing Ensemble, the fashion show, and games to keep the audience hyped and ready for more. Also, amateur bands formed by students from the different schools including Xavier’s own served as the show’s prologue before the actual climax of the show.

The VOYC (Voice of the Youth Concert) Committee, with the help of its sponsors such as Pepsi, Converse, Dunkin’ Donuts and others, prepared it to be an advocacy show calling for the improvement of the state of our country’s public education. Kevin Cobankiat (H4D) was the Head of this year’s VOYC Committee. Mr. Christian Bumatayo (HS English) and Mr. Michael Cuepo (HS Filipino) were the committee’s moderators.
