On January 15 and 16, the EDSA-Ortigas Consortium of Schools gathered at Xavier’s Multi-Purpose Center as Xavier School hosted this year’s EDSOR Peace Camp entitled: “Ten for 2010: Ten Acts of Patriotism for 2010.”The four schools that participated in this event were Xavier School, Immaculate Conception Academy, La Salle Greenhills, and Saint Pedro Poveda College.

edsor-2.jpgThe EDSOR Peace Camp this year was initiated to promote a deeper appreciation of patriotism, what it means and what it takes for the youth to make a difference in our country. This year’s Peace Camp focused on true patriots. As such, many activities were aligned to the nationalistic lifestyles of the two most known patriots of our modern times: Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. and his wife, former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino.

The success of the program was due to the untiring support of Xavier School’s administration, High School EDSOR and Likas Gilas Committee, High School and Grade School Student Councils, and the Student Activity Program Offices from Grade School and High School led by Mrs. Jopin Galvez and Mr. Jake Aragon, respectively.

edsor-1.jpgSince its establishment in the year 2000, the EDSOR Peace Camp has been a venue for promoting peace and training future leaders from the four schools. Hosting the EDSOR Peace Conference is done alternately among the schools. The next EDSOR Peace Camp will be held in Saint Pedro Poveda College next year.
