Jose Habalo Wins Gold in Karate World Championships

Xavier’s karate kid has done it again! Jose Raphael Habalo of Grade 3-I won the gold medal in the Boys 8-year old kumite event at the 6th World Shitoryu Karate Championships last Aug. 20-23, 2009. He won the event after defeating three opponents from Russia. This year’s event was held at the Yuetan Gymnasium in Beijing, China. The international competition is staged every three years. Among the 25 countries who participated were Japan, Korea, India, Iran, Russia, USA, Venezuela, the Philippines, and host China. Congratulations Jose!
