Emergency Drill

by Mr. Christopher Salumbides, HS Student Supervisor

Emergency Drill - July 22, 2009

The safety of students, teachers, and the rest of the school community is one of Xavier School’s priorities. Thus, to ensure that members of the community know what to do in case of an emergency, orientations and drills are conducted early in the school year.

Emergency Drill Orientation - July 22, 2009To acquaint the students, faculty and staff on the actions to take in times of an emergency, the first emergency orientation and drill was conducted in the High School Unit  last July 22, 2009, Wednesday.

During Homeroom period that day, the Class Advisers gave their advisees an orientation on the procedure for “Drop, Cover, and Hold” in case of an earthquake, then discussed the particular evacuation route to take, as well as the other DOs and DON’Ts, in case of an actual emergency. The drill then proceeded with the students and faculty members practicing the Emergency Drill - July 22, 2009earthquake and evacuation drill procedures.

Once all announced emergency orientations and drills have been conducted to the rest of the school community, there will be an unannounced drill to measure how prepared the school is in case of emergency.
