Doctors for a Day

Dr. Kelly Salvador, M.D. and his XELECT students

Last August 21, 2008, a group of promising juniors had their chance to visit a small hospital in Makati as part of their Xelect class. These students joined the Introduction to Medicine electives course offered by no less than our alumni association president, Dr. Kelly Salvador, M.D.

They also got a glimpse of a patient taking a stress test and using the ECG Machine to check for any heart problems as well as people in therapy in the Orthopedics Department.

Lastly, they experienced being inside the Emergency Room using the differentPhoto by: Mr. Alemberg Ang, XELECT Coordinator apparatus there including the defibrillator, Ambu bag and the ECG monitor.

The students were fortunate to be able to walk in the shoes of a doctor for just one afternoon during their Xelect classes. Who knows, maybe one of them will be your doctor someday.
