At the very beginning of the second quarter, the Xavier High School Unit welcomed the teachers and administrators of Philadelphia High School of Quezon City.
Led by their principal, Ms. Liezel Agtarap-Aguilar, the visiting teachers spent the morning of August 19, 2008, in Xavier to exchange ideas with teachers and administrators.
Mrs. Jane Cacacho, High School Principal and Ms. Aimee Apolinario, Assistant Principal for Academics welcomed the guests at AVR 4.
A short campus tour followed the film viewing that introduced the visitors to Xavier School. Ms. Apolinario and Mrs. Julie Cruz, HS Science Chairperson, took the guests to the Science laboratories, the Learning Resource Center, the Faculty Workroom and the Computer laboratories.
An articulation between the Xavier department chairpersons and their counterparts from Philadelphia took place right after the campus tour.
Mr. Adrian Asis, HS English teacher, also accommodated the visiting language and computer teachers to observe his 1-to-1 Computer class while the rest listened to short presentations on Xavier High’s Mentoring and Overseas Studies Programs presented by Ms. Joney Pusta and Mr. Brian Marana respectively.
The Grade School teachers of the same school also came that day to articulate and observe classes in the Grade School Unit.
The professional exchange of best practices certainly helped both parties and the visit certainly established good rapport between the two schools.
