The Freshman Bandfest held last Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH) proved to be a complete success. Students got the chance to showcase their musical talents to the entire batch.
Knowing that the batch is musically inclined, High 1 Batch Representative, Winchell Wong (H1G), organized this activity. He did not want the talents of the freshmen to go to waste which was why he thought of initiating the activity. Wong remarked, “Although we all stayed here until 4PM , today we witnessed something we can all be proud of, and that is seeing our fellow batch mates showcase their talents.”
Gabriel Ang (H1D), lead singer of the H1 bandfest champion, KWM (Kasi Walang Maisip), said that the whole activity was enjoyable and described the experience as “nakakatawa.” The first-runner up was awarded to Off Limits whose lead singer, Fernando Tan (H1C) had this to say: “I think that this was enjoyable because it is the first time we played and won first runner-up.”
H1 Guidance Counselor, Mr. Glenn Lacon, commented that the activity opened his eyes to how talented the freshmen are. “It made me admire the batch even more because it made me realize that many of the freshmen are well-rounded and multi-talented.”
Before the start of the bandfest proper, Leigh Wong, SC President, said in his opening remarks, “The freshmen have indeed made a name for themselves in music.”
