dedication-angels0708.jpgEvery year, Xavier School launches a Christmas Drive sometime in November. This year, there are several projects that have been announced by the Grade School Christmas Drive Committee. Some of these projects are the “UK”(Ukay-ukay), Most Requested in Xavier (MRX), and the Dedication Angels.

The Pamaskong Handog Pails is also part of the drive. Janitors, security guards, other school personnel will receive pails for their “Noche Buena” celebrations. It will contain non-perishable food like instant noodles, sugar, coffee, rice and salt.

mrx0708.pngStudents may also donate money through the Magis Cans, the Most Requested in Xavier (MRX), and Public School Fund Drive. The Grades 1-3 students put their loose change into Magis Cans located in their respective classrooms. Students vote for their favorite teachers in the MRX (Most Requested in Xavier). One vote costs a peso and the favorite teachers will perform in the Christmas Program. The money collected will be made as funds to make classrooms for public schools.

The UK or “ukay-ukay” is an activity held every year in Xavier School for the poor families in San Juan. Each family who will benefit this program will receive a Christmas Drive Ticket and upon payment of thirty pesos, they will be able to choose and receive twenty articles of clothing of their choice.

There will also be a Caroling Activity done by the MLA’s (Middle Level Administrators) during the Christmas parties of the Grade School. During that time, students with loose change or donations may give to carolers. These will be part of the Public School Fund Drive.

The Christmas Drive this year will hopefully be successful just like last year’s. We in Hoofprint hope that you will support the Christmas Drive and begin the spirit of sharing so that we may really make this Christmas a season of sharing for everyone.
