G2 Boys Become Full-fledged KAB Scouts

Recollection: The Annunciations of Advent

Annunciations

Parents and alumni are invited to attend the recollection to be given by Fr. Johnny Go, SJ this Saturday, Nov. 28, 3:00 - 6:00 PM, at the Angelo King MPC. “The Annunciations of Advent” will help all of us enter into the spirit of Advent and prepare for a joyful celebration of Christmas. The recollection will end with an anticipated Sunday Mass marking the start of the Advent season.

KAB Olympics 2009

kab-awarding.jpgThe Grade Two KAB Scouts had their KAB Olympics last Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 7:30 am to 12:00 nn. The different sections represented the countries of Africa (2A), Brazil (2B), Canada (2C), Dominican Republic (2D), Egypt (2E), France (2F), Germany (2G), Hong Kong (2H), and India (2I). Film Produced by Alemberg Ang (95) Wins Gold Prize at Cairo Film Festival

film-fest3.jpgCongratulations to Alemberg Ang (95), alumnus and former Xavier teacher, whose film “The Rapture of Fe”  won the Golden Prize at the International Digital Competition at the 33rd Cairo International Film Festival last November 20. Aside from Alem, who served as executive producer, other Xaverians collaborated in the project:  Gino Nacianceno and Marco Ortiga (XS 02) as production designers; Michael Son (XS 02) and Carlo Chong (XS 07) as associate producers; and Angelo Santos (XS 03) from SQ Film Laboratories who processed post-production for sound and music. Parents Learn Singapore Math

The growing curiosity about Singapore Math resulted in tenacious requests from parents for a seminar that would guide them in teaching their children. Mrs. Erlinda Manguiat, Math Department Chairperson of the Grade School, and Ms. Rosie Moscoso, Math Department Chairperson of the High School, came up with a plan on how best they could address this.

DepEd Visits Xavier for IBDP

DepEd officials visited Xavier School on Nov. 18 (Wed) on an Inspection Visit, a requirement before the school is granted the permit to implement the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP)* for next SY 2010 - 2011.
