Parents and alumni are invited to attend the recollection to be given by Fr. Johnny Go, SJ this Saturday, Nov. 28, 3:00 - 6:00 PM, at the Angelo King MPC. “The Annunciations of Advent” will help all of us enter into the spirit of Advent and prepare for a joyful celebration of Christmas. The recollection will end with an anticipated Sunday Mass marking the start of the Advent season.

The Grade Two KAB Scouts had their KAB Olympics last Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 7:30 am to 12:00 nn. The different sections represented the countries of Africa (2A), Brazil (2B), Canada (2C), Dominican Republic (2D), Egypt (2E), France (2F), Germany (2G), Hong Kong (2H), and India (2I). Congratulations to Alemberg Ang (95), alumnus and former Xavier teacher, whose film “The Rapture of Fe” won the Golden Prize at the International Digital Competition at the 33rd Cairo International Film Festival last November 20. Aside from Alem, who served as executive producer, other Xaverians collaborated in the project: Gino Nacianceno and Marco Ortiga (XS 02) as production designers; Michael Son (XS 02) and Carlo Chong (XS 07) as associate producers; and Angelo Santos (XS 03) from SQ Film Laboratories who processed post-production for sound and music. Book Week in the Early Education Department has always been a much awaited event. Over the years, this event has included bookmaking, presentations, and inviting expert storytellers for a simple book reading. Whatever the activity, the core objective of Book Week remains the same - to promote love of books and to stimulate the child’s imagination.
