A BLESSED CHRISTMAS TO THE XAVIER COMMUNITY!
Note: This homily was delivered by Fr. Johnny Go, SJ during the Midnight Mass in Xavier School on 24 December 2008. Exactly 190 years ago, during a Midnight Mass just like this one, in a village church in Oberndorf, Austria, the song “Silent Night” in its original German was performed and heard for the very first time. The song has since then been translated into hundreds of languages and sung by millions every December all over the world. Read the rest of this entry »

Note: This is the homily delivered by Fr. Johnny Go, SJ at the Simbang Gabi in Xavier School on 18 December 2008.
I don’t know about you, but I have a little problem with the Gospel story we just heard.
The Gospel recounts a lesser-known Annunciation scene: The angel Gabriel appears to Zechariah, the aging husband of Elizabeth, and tells him the news that he and his wife are soon to have a child, the future John the Baptist. You’ll probably agree that the scene is very similar to that other, better-known Annunciation, that event in the New Testament when the same angel visits Mary and tells her that if she says yes, she will be the mother of Jesus. Text of the speech delivered by Robina Gokongwei-Pe during the thanksgiving party to welcome back the XCE boys from Guangzhou.
To the extremely proud but occasionally makulit parents of the XCE, the exhausted and hardworking supervisors most especially XCE coordinator the sultry Zhang Zi Yi look-alike Jennifer Say and the overall XCE coordinator, the debonair Yul Brynner, Bruce Willis look-alike Fr. Guy Guibelondo, and our very capable sons who joined the XCE- as a group they have lost a combined weight of more than 1000 lbs, but have become leaner, sexier, and better looking… Read the rest of this entry »

Read the rest of this entry »

Read the rest of this entry »
