XS SENIORS PIONEER XSI IN BEIJING

Xaverians Score High in 2008 MOEMS

Out of more than 170,000 students from 5000 teams coming from the 50 states and 25 countries worldwide that participated in the 2008 Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS), nine students from Xavier School garnered gold, silver, and bronze certificates in the elementary and middle school division. 今年九月十八日,从以色列大使馆的雅尼夫先生 (Mr. Yaniv) 来到光启学校, 在英语课上向中四英文资优班的学生们介绍以色列的历史及文化。英语资课堂主题就是犹太大屠杀, 因而特别邀 请了他。 几天以前,英语资优班的薇薇安·欧嵌坡老师 (Mrs. Vivian Ocampo) 安排学生们唱一首歌给雅尼夫先生听,唱的是一首关于人们团结真美妙的歌。雅尼夫先生对学生们讲了很多, 比如: 他介绍了有关以色列的人口、陆地面积,宗教和一些社会现状。然后,他也讲了关于他对于犹太大屠杀、歧视等其他争论问题的一些看法和观点。介绍完之后, 学生们问了他一些问题;雅尼夫先生很高兴地作以回答。下课的时候,学生们给了雅尼夫先生几件礼物,因为他花时间来光启学校给学生讲他们国家的文化及历史。

Appreciation Day: Xavier’s Got Talent

Appreciation day is always a grand celebration in Xavier. What makes it even more special, aside from the memorable preparation done by the Student Council and the students in the morning, is that the faculty and staff have their own extraordinary celebration during the afternoon of the same day.
